By car

From the west: Highway A1

Take the exit marked "Zentrum" for the centre of Vienna. This will get you on to Schönbrunnerstrasse. Drive straight on, following the signs for "Zentrum". At the end of Schönbrunnerstrasse turn left into Heumühlgasse and then right into Rechte Wienzeile. Drive on until you reach Karlsplatz. Follow the sign for "Zentrum" (taking a slight left) which leads directly to the opera house "Staatsoper". Just before that, turn left on to the ring road (four-lane highway) and follow that until you reach the town hall "Rathaus". Then follow the sign "Votivparkgarage", which is a multi-storey carpark. Leaving your car there, you can walk the rest of the way to the end of the park.


From the south: Highway A2

From the A2 turn off onto the A23 ("Süd-Osttangente"), taking the direction "Zentrum". Once on the A23, take the exit marked "Zentrum" which will bring you on to Schüttelstrasse. This leads into Untere Donaustrasse and then Obere Donaustrasse. Follow the signs for "Zentrum/Prater". At the junction of Obere Donaustrasse and Rembrandtstrasse turn left over the bridge, following the sign "Votivparkgarage". Continue along Hörlgasse until you come to the junction with Währingerstrasse and then follow the sign "Votivparkgarage", which is a multi-storey carpark. Leaving your car there, you can walk the rest of the way to the end of the park.

From the east: Highway A4

Take the direction "Zentrum" and turn off at the junction "Prater" on to Schüttelstrasse (B227). This leads into Untere Donaustrasse and then Obere Donaustrasse. Follow the signs for "Zentrum/Prater". At the junction of Obere Donaustrasse and Rembrandtstrasse turn left over the bridge, following the sign "Votivparkgarage". Continue along Hörlgasse until you come to the junction with Währingerstrasse and then follow the sign "Votivparkgarage", which is a multi-storey carpark. Leaving your car there, you can walk the rest of the way to the end of the park.

By public transport

From the airport:

Either take the airport shuttle bus to Schwedenplatz and from there the number 2 tram to Schottentor. Or take the S7 train or the CAT train to Landstrasse/Wien Mitte. From there take the subway (U-Bahn) train U4 in the direction of Heiligenstadt. Change at Schottenring to the U2 in the direction of Karlsplatz and get off at the next stop, which is Schottentor. Leave by the exit marked "Währingerstrasse" and you can walk the rest of the way to the end of the park.

From the railway station Westbahnhof:

Take the subway (U-Bahn) train U3 in the direction of Simmering. Change at Volkstheater to the U2 in the direction of Schottenring and get off at Schottentor. Leave by the exit marked "Währingerstrasse" and you can walk the rest of the way to the end of the park.

From the railway station Südbahnhof:

Take the D tram in the direction of Nussdorf and get off at Schottentor. Leave by the exit marked "Währingerstrasse" and you can walk the rest of the way to the end of the park.
